    Included in this day trip with your registration costs: 

    • Transportation by Island Buggy Van.
    • 90-minute SPMC private group behind the scenes “Admiral VIP Tour” of many areas on the USS Yorktown. Visit the Patriot's Point Admiral VIP Tour website for details on the tour, which includes:
      • B52 bomber.
      • Unrestored Battle Dressing Station/medical bay.
      • The Fo'c'sle (Forward Deck).
      • Captain's Cabin.
      • The Flag Bridge- where the USS Yorktown (CV-10) took a direct bomb hit.
      • PrI-Fly (Primary Flight Control)- a bird's-eye view of the flight deck.
    • After the tour, you will have two hours for small groups or self-guided exploring.

      • All areas of the USS Yorktown (CV-10) Aircraft Carrier: engine room experience, Officers’ Staterooms, Ships Library Exhibit, & more

    Lunch on your own at The Charleston Harbor Fish House, next door to Patriot’s Point (0.3 miles/6-minute walk from Museum entrance).

    Schedule of events: 

    7:30am: depart from the Shops of Sea Pines on Island Buggy shuttle van 

    10:00am: arrival at Patriot’s Point Naval & Maritime Museum

    10:30am-12:00noon: “Admiral VIP Tour” on the USS Yorktown - private SPMC group tour

    12:00noon-2:00pm: Small group self-guided exploring: the Yorktown, Museum, & Exhibits

    2:00-3:00pm: Late lunch on your own at The Charleston Harbor Fish House 

    3:30pm-6:00pm: Depart to return home to Shops of Sea Pines by 6pm

    About this event:

    • Our private SPMC mixology event will be held in the Calibogue Room (also called the Green Room) on the second floor of the Quarterdeck Restaurant.
      • Stunning views over the Calibogue Sound with a front row view of the sunset occurring at 6:45pm during the event.
      • The room will be set up with smaller tables to accommodate up to 30 attendees.
    • The SPMC Mixology class is a hands-on interactive event featuring tips from a mixologist focusing on three different spirits and cocktail options: 
      • Cocktails with tequila - margaritas and more
      • Favorite drinks using vodka
      • Mocktail options to wow your guests
    • Heavy hors d’oeuvres will be served to learn what pairs with the cocktails you create during the evening. Green Room

    
Join the SPMC and learn to create and enjoy three cocktails, spirit mixing tips and techniques from mixologist at the Quarterdeck, and enjoy your own created cocktails paired with hors d’oeuvres!

  • Men's & Women's Clubs of Sea Pines Joint Fall Picnic Social

    When: Saturday, November 7th, 2:00pm – 5:00pm
    Location: Sea Pines Forest Preserve, Fish Island Pavilion
    Event Capacity: 80 spots for the SPMC, including a Guest. You are welcome to register and bring your spouse or significant other (they do not need to be a member of the women’s group). This is a Joint Event with the Women’s Club of Sea Pines. We are expecting a total of 250 attendees!
    Registration Deadline: Saturday, October 24th, we expect tickets will sell out fast!
    Cost: $50 per person. A cash/credit car bar will be provided.

    About this event: 

    • This is our first joint event with the Women’s Club of Sea Pines!
    • The event will take place on Saturday, November 7th from 2:00-5:00pm in the afternoon, with sunset at approximately 5:30pm.
    • Rain/weather delay date is the following day, Sunday November 8th same time, and same location.
    • We expect a crowd of 250 attendees from both Men’s & Women’s Clubs. Members can bring their spouse or significant other, even if they are not the Women’s Club. 
    • There will be live band entertainment - The Ross Band, playing some favorite songs, and maybe sing-a-longs!
    • Lowcountry Taps HHI will be providing a 64 Chevy Pael beer & wine taps-truck and pop-up cash/credit card bar featuring a selection of beer and wine options.
    • Catering provided by SERG Signature Catering and will offer fall picnic theme menu selections including:
    • Chowders: corn chowder with ham and butternut squash bisque with toasted pumpkin seeds
    • Mixed seasonal greens salad with dressings
    • Deluxe sandwich board with sirloin of beef with Swiss cheese plus horseradish cream, honey pecan chicken salad, and caprese sandwich with pesto aioli on focaccia
    • Dessert assortment of cowboy cookies &  triple chocolate brownies. 
    • Glutton-free and vegetarian menu options are included.

  • SCAD (Savannah College of Art & Design) Tour

    When: Monday, November 9th  
    Tour Time: 9:30am-3pm across various SCAD locations including lunch.
    Departure: 8:15am departure from Shops of Sea Pines @ the Community Center. Return time 4:00pm. We will create carpools to the SCAD Athletic Complex.
    Tour Location: Starting point and return point for the tour: SCAD Athletic Complex, 3650 Speedway Blvd. Hardeeville, SC. SCAD Tour bus will pick up the SPMC for our tour.
    Registration Deadline: Wednesday, November 4th
    Event Capacity: Up to a max of 25. Since this is a complimentary tour, we will limit attendees to SPMC members only.
    Cost: No cost for members. Lunch is also included at no cost.  

    Included in this day trip: 

    • SCAD locations considered for inclusion in the agenda include (to be finalized by early Sept) 
    • A detailed agenda with specific times of tours at the various facilities will be available in early September, as SCAD school academic calendar of events for the new school year are being finalized through the end of August. 
    • There is no cost for this SCAD Tour event. The event is Complimentary from Friends of SCAD to promote SCAD with local area groups to get become more involved.
    • Transportation will be by carpools. This will allow us to keep the event as a no-cost event. 
    • Lunch is also included at no cost at the SCAD Gryphon Premier dining location. 
    • With Friends of SCAD offering this all-day complimentary tour and lunch, donations to SCAD to promote their film & studio work are welcome. More details on how to make a donation will be provided when the agenda details are finalized in September. 

    Schedule of events (exact tour and times b/w 10am-2:30pm finalized by early September):

    • 8:00-8:15am: Gather and depart from the Shops of Sea Pines from Community Center via car-pools. 
    • 9:15am: Arrive at SCAD Athletic Complex: SCAD Athletics Complex-Hardeeville
    • 9:30am: Depart for SCAD tour on SCAD provided tour vans
      • 10:00am: View of the Savannah River. 
      • 10:30am: SCADstory at Poetter Hall 4D immersive experience
      • 11:00am: SCAD Design Studios: The Deloitte Foundry with SCADpro and SCADamp. 
      • 11:45am: Lunch at Gryphon Premier dining 
      • 1:00-2:15: Savannah Film Studios & backlot
    • 2:15pm: Return to SCAD Athletics Complex
    • 2:45pm: Drive back to Sea Pines
    • 4:00pm: Arrive at the Shops of Sea Pines

  • Christmas/Holiday Gala

    Cost: Member & Guests $70.00 per person
    Registration Deadline: Friday, November 20th

    Spouses, significant others, or male guest are invited to attend. This is another terrific opportunity to expand our membership by inviting a male friend or neighbor as a guest who may be interested in joining SPMC. Just include them in the total number of tickets you purchase (you do not register their info separately).

    • This is one of our most popular events of the year and one you will not want to miss.
    • The event will include a “Most Spirited Holiday Dressed” contest. This can include your most Holiday Spirited Get-ups, your best festive Holiday outfits, favorite Ugly Holiday Sweater, or maybe even Santa Suits. Judging will be conducted by the Board Members at check in. Top two winners (individual or couple) will receive gift certificates!
    • The SPMC club, in conjunction with our Christmas Gala, will be partnering with the Deep Well Project Group with a toy drive to supply their Santa Shop. You can bring your new toy item to the Christmas Gala and deposit it in the Deep Well Toy Bin at the Gala. Deep Well even has a toy drive wish list on Amazon: Deep Well's Santa Shop Wish List to help with selecting appropriate toys.
    • Our event will be held at the beautiful Harbour Town Yacht Club. There are mazing  views of the Harbour and Lighthouse outside on the deck.
    • Check in and a credit card Bar/Happy Hour will start at 4:30pm. Happy hour lasting through about 5:30pm.
    • Sunset is approximately 5:15pm during Happy Hour. So, make sure you catch the sunset view off the deck while mingling with other members and guests before dinner.
    • Dinner at 5:30pm is a full sit-down dinner with buffet offerings, starting with Mixed Greens Salad with Feta Honey Green Dressing and bread & butter. We will have a Chef Attended Carving Station with House Smoked Brisket with Caroline Mustard & Sweet Chipotle sauces, Seared Salmon in a lemon caper sauce, Potatoes Gratin, and Grilled Asparagus. Dessert will include Cheesecake with Berries.
    • Beverages which are included entail: Iced Tea, Lemonade, and soft drinks available at the bar. A Coffee Station will also be set up.
